Thanks to You, We’re Connecting Classrooms Everywhere in Exciting, New Ways!

Over the past few years, we have been tested unlike any time in our recent history. From global discord to the pandemic to economic instability, our society has accommodated many changes that have caused extreme stress and uncertainty. Our education system, our schools, and educators are a direct reflection of these events. We at Empatico recognize that our students and educators have so much to contend with, and aim to find a way to add a little bit of kindness, fun, and connection into their lives.

We are thrilled to share that a brand-new version of the Empatico product will soon be launched. This will enable educators and classrooms to connect and communicate in a more seamless, delightful way, anywhere in the world!

We have learned so much from our community in recent years and have poured that valuable insight into this newer version. To make it even easier to use, we have embedded intelligent, intuitive functionality to help teachers connect, match, and chat with multiple educators through “multi-match” capabilities and improved chat communications, scheduling, and video features.

As schools, educators, and students continue to weather unprecedented challenges, social and emotional learning (SEL) has never been more essential. We believe this is not a political issue – this is a human issue. SEL helps children become better people – it can develop self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. These skills enable children to build meaningful relationships and stay more engaged in school.

The newest version of Empatico will build a global social network for educators—a place where teachers can share, support, and spark conversations to foster a kinder world. It will also feature a portfolio of 85+ SEL activities for in-class learning experiences that help guide educators for the virtual exchanges they will have with their partner teachers. Zoom has been integrated into the platform to enhance video conferencing and screen sharing among teachers.

The new Empatico will feature a teacher community/multi-match system, a robust library of SEL activities, and seamless new calendar to make scheduling across time zones super easy.

If you haven’t used Empatico in the last year, we hope you’ll jump back in and give the new Empatico a try. The virtual exchanges made possible through Empatico let you invite students from different communities and countries into your classroom. You can introduce expert guests to your lesson plans, and you can facilitate field trips around the world—all for free!

In an increasingly disconnected world, Empatico’s goal is to bridge the divides—making virtual exchanges a regular part of all students’ educational journey while also helping educators learn from each other.

Our society deserves better. At Empatico, we are doing our small part to make the world a better place for our children. We hope you’ll love using Empatico as much as we love creating it for you to empower connections and nurture a more empathetic world.

  • If you haven’t been active in the past 12 months, please log into the platform in the next couple of weeks to update your availability and some basic info, so that you enter the pool of active users being migrated to the new Empatico!
  • Once you’ve signed into your account, you will see a banner (so be on the lookout!) in the Empatico app to submit up-to-date information about your school, classroom size, student ages, and classroom areas of interest to help identify potential educator matches.
  • Please note: Scheduled meetings, chats and file exchange history will not move over to the new version, so now is a good time to save any shared files or chat history.
